"Paul Yandell's latest CD release shows why he is one of the most recognized fingerstyle guitarist in the world! Nashville's legendary session guitarist is at the top of the heap when it comes to fingerstyle guitarists. Having played and recorded with country artists such as Kitty Wells, The Louvin Brothers and Jerry Reed, Paul is probably most recognized as having been Chet Atkins' accompanist in concert and studio session guitarist for almost 30 years. During this time Paul recorded on some of Chet's classic RCA albums including the 1973 release Superpickers, Goes To The Movies, The Night Atlanta Burned (Atkins String Co.), And Then Came...Chet Atkins ('77 French live double-album) as well as Chet's later releases on Columbia/Sony label in the '80's and '90's including Stay Tuned, Sails and Almost Alone.

"Dream Train" features Paul with some of Nashville's finest musicians including Pat Bergeson (electric guitar & harmonica), Tim Crouch (fiddle), Catherine Styron March (keyboards), Kenny Malone (drums), and others. Special guest appearance by country superstar Steve Wariner joins Paul on the Santo & Johnny hit "Sleepwalk" playing lap steel. And by the way the CD's cartoon theme album cover is also drawn by Steve!

The title track "Dream Train" is Paul's reworking of the original 1952 track that Chet recorded with singer Rosalie Allen on RCA Victor. Paul also plays new original compositions including "Lookin' Up", "Mayfield", "Say It Again", "Clear Spring Blues #2", "Kentucky Blue", "Arilyn Roe", "Nashville Boogie" and a wonderful fingerpicking tune called "My Pal". Other songs by Yandell include the laid back version of "Shanty Town", and "Shine" which is an upbeat number reminiscent of Chet's early '50's work." -- Steve W.
