"On this collection, Speedy West seems very much at home during the amiable interplay with Tennessee Ernie Ford, and of whose band he was a key member during 1950's pre-recorded broadcasts. His status meant that Speedy always got to play at least one solo per show, and Jimmy Bryant as an occasional guest. The other regular musicians, Billy Liebert on piano or accordion, Harold Hensley on fiddle, George Bruns on bass, and Billy Strange on guitar (when Bryant was absent), gave all the support anyone could ask for, and all joined in the obvious fun which made Tennesee Ernie's shows so popular at the time." -- Paul Pelletier, Jasmine Records 2000
