Originally released on Roulette Jazz, two 1960's albums by this virtuoso guitarist are issued on CD for he first time: "The Sound of the Johnny Smith Guitar" (tracks 1-10) with Hank Jones, George Duvivier and Ed Shaughnessy and Smith's "Plus The Trio" (tracks 11-20) with his regular group. Famous for his version of "Moonlight In Vermont" with Stan Getz and as the composer of the Ventures hit "Walk, Don't Run," Smith has become an important guiter hero as well as a solid, respected artist.
