[From the CD liner notes]:
"James 'Spider' Rich left behind a musical legacy which includes the perennial hit "Yakety Axe", as well as a collection of tunes recorded by Chet Atkins over the years. On this CD you will hear Spider at his best, playing his own compositions, as well as his arrangements of some standards, with backup from a talented cast of musicians.
Most of the recordings are from Spider's 1973 album titled "The Rich Sound of Twin Guitars", along with several tunes recorded in the mid '90's. Much of the music here is transfered from the last existing sealed copy of the vinyl LP, and has been remastered using current techniques to bring back the vibrancy of the original sessions.
Spider was joined on these recordings by notable guitarists from western Kentucky, including the great Mose Rager, Royce Morgan, Dick Shelton, and Lindell Russ." -- Pat Kirtley, fingerstyle guitarist & recording artist 2005
