"Like many of today's guitarists, Chet Atkins was my main influence when learning to play the guitar. Even as a young man of 13, I was struck by the sound and style of Chet's playing. From then on, I knew that I wanted to be a guitar player. I had always hoped that someday I would get to know him personally and my hopes and dreams came true in 1992. Then in later years, I had the honor of getting to know him better and spend some time with him through becoming a member of the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS).
