Specifications:
This introductory-level book provides an overview of fingerstyle techniques for the guitarist who may not be familiar with the classical/fingerstyle technique or who just wants to learn more. The first few chapters discuss some basic techniques and how to approach these techniques while developing good habits and correcting or avoiding the development of bad habits. The later sections focus on some basic repertoire from the classical and fingerstyle traditions and will implement the techniques learned in the previous chapters.
"My experience level is beginner - intermediate and my style is classical. I love the music from nylon string classical guitars but will soon purchase an acoustic steel string and move into some of the beautiful music available in fingerstyle. In my case, the book, "Mel Bay's Getting Into Fingerstyle Guitar" by Jonathan Adams is perfect for that. It teaches several styles including country and blues and the triplet arpeggios in several of Mr Adams' songs are easy enough to master but still challenging. I would recommend this book to someone who already has some guitar playing experience, but, believe someone with good practice technique and the willingness to learn can certainly lay a good foundation for their future music making." -- Jonathan Adams, book's author, guitarist & teacher
