"The first guitar album I ever heard was Chet Atkins Plays Back Home Hymns, which gave me a vision for arranging and performing sacred music for solo guitar. I'm pleased to present this selection of sacred music performed on one of Chet's greatest guitars, the 1969 Ramirez -a guitar that has traveled the world, been on many of Chet's TV appearances and albums. The guitar is featured on the first 12 tunes of this recording. A Gibson CEC Electric Classical that Chet gave me in 1993 is featured on the final three cuts. The last song "Precious Memories" is the only piece on the album played on two guitars. The background is played on the CEC Classic and the melody on a Gibson Country Gentleman which has been Chet's signature guitar for years and is the only steel string instrument used on this recording." -- Rick Foster, 2005
