The Merle Travis guitar picking style is known today as "Thumb Picking" due to the dominant base line carried throughout the tune by the thumb. Travis used one finger adding the lead notes - Moon Mullins adds the second finger, selecting lead harmony notes or ragtime licks, giving the sound a new dimension.

All you need is a moderate working knowledge of chords and a desire to learn. Moon Mullins slowly walks you through the tune with split screen allowing you to see both hands at once.
