"The role of Chet Atkins in the Radiozark transcription disc series he made with the Carter Sisters & Mother Maybelle has been well documented on four prevoius Country routes CD's: vol.1, vol.2, vol.3, and vol.4. Here are thirty-seven more tracks from 1949 featuring Chet's masterful guitar playing in all its facets, plus ocassional shots on fiddle and vocal.

As a teenager, Chet played fiddle over Knoxville, Tennessee WNOX radio, so the Carters were happy to incorporate this on occasion at the show's end and just once at the start of "Skip To My Lou". Of course, Chet was predominantly featured on guitar and his thoughtful accompaniments can be heard throughout these shows.
